Comedian Miranda Hart has denied rumours linking her to a judging role on Strictly Come Dancing, following Alesha Dixon’s exit earlier this week.
Alesha, who has been a judge on the dancing show for the past three years, surprisingly quit in a shock move to rival show Britain’s Got Talent.
The Daily Mail had claimed that BBC bosses were after a “life-field choice” for her replacement.
“The producers want someone really startling,” an insider told the newspaper. “Miranda is seen as a brilliant left-field choice. She totally loves the show and is incredibly popular with the viewing public.
“We think she could bring something completely different to the panel because of her wit.”
However the star’s spokesperson denied the claims, stating: “I can confirm that there is no truth in the rumour that she is being lined up to judge Strictly Come Dancing.”
