Alex Jones announced as new ‘Let’s Dance’ co-host

The One shows Alex Jones will present alongside Steve Jones when Comic Relief programme Lets dance returns for its third run next month. She will replace Claudia Winkleman. Talking about presenting the show on tonight’s one show she said that she can’t wait to join Steve and the team.

Alex said: “It’s come at the perfect time for me having just returned from filming in Africa for Comic Relief where I saw first-hand how we can really make a difference.

“I’m really looking forward to working with steve on this year’s show. We’ve got a great lineup and I can’t wait to see the performances – I’m anticipating an exciting, flamboyant and ridiculous show!”

In other Lets Dances news Celebrities confirmed to be taking part include Noel Fielding, Russell Kane, designers Colin and Justin, Penny Smith, Andi Osho, Ed Byrne and Rebecca Front.

Musical stars including JLS and Jessie J have also been confirmed to perform on the show, which will air in the build up to Comic Relief 2011 later this year.
