In an attempt to win a slap-up meal, the pair had to down eight items of bush tucker. Each time they did, they won one course, with a starter, main, dessert and drink on offer for each of them.

The first round was for the drinks, and Mark was served up a ‘Cocropolitan’ of blended cockroaches, while Dougie was given a ‘Bloody Scary’ of blended emu liver. Both slurped the nasty concoctions to win their first course.

“It wasn’t that bad, it tasted like… blood and liver, yeah,” commented Dougie.

For their starters, Mark had to eat two beachworms from a ‘beachworm bruschetta’. He picked up the creatures and reluctantly chomped on them. “That was worse than the drink,” he moaned. Dougie then managed a witchetty grub.

Next, they played for their mains, and Mark had to dip a cricket in to vomit fruit for his ‘cricket crudité’, swallowing it while imagining it was crispy duck. Dougie then laughed at his ‘dim bum’, an ostrich anus. Mark encouraged him to pretend it was a Chinese meal, and he ate it.

The final round was for pudding, and Mark opened his cloche to find a fish eye. “It’s got a bone in it,” he said while chewing, and hosts Ant and Dec explained it was the optic nerve.

“Back to the Chinese restaurant,” commented Dougie, who was dished up ‘cocktail sausages’, or a bush pig penis chopped in to sections. “Penis tastes so bad!” he exclaimed.

However, they both completed the challenge and went back to camp with the entire meal, agreeing that the dessert round was the worst.
