I'm A Celebrity blue team win elimination immunity in Bed Bugs challenge

Mark Wright (I'm A Celebrity)I’m A Celebrity’s blue team triumphed in the final Beat The Bugs challenge, securing immunity from the first elimination after spending a night in beds infested with jungle creatures!

At a jungle clearing in the dead of night, each celeb had their own perspex box containing a bed, which they had to lie in while facing their worst fears – claustrophobia and critters.

The team that clocked up the most hours would win. As victors of two previous immunity challenges, the blues were rewarded with a half-hour advantage over the oranges.

Unsurprisingly, Sinitta was first to quit, after trying her best to cling to the bedsheets. Describing the ordeal as ‘like a Freddy Kruger movie’, she said: “As we approached our beds I felt my legs go and I thought I’d pass out, I couldn’t breathe properly and it reminded me of when I was a little girl and my mum used to have to search under the bed.

“Beds are supposed to be safe places and this was my worst nightmare.”

Antony soon followed after a snake decided to go to toilet on his leg, while Crissy also got out after bravely trying to put up with the cockroaches crawling all over her.

Meanwhile, Mark also had a hard time, shouting to Dougie for help against an onslaught of rats: “I’ve got to get out, I can’t sleep, they are my worst thing in the world, they are crawling into my pyjamas, they are getting more confident, I can’t do it!” he cried. “I’m going to be sick. They stink and are doing poos all over my bed.”

However, he managed to tough it out until the morning, when the remaining celebrities were released. The orange team managed a collective 29 hours and 22 minutes, but were thrashed by the blue team’s 35 hours and 56 minutes!

Therefore, Pat, Mark, Dougie, Jessica-Jane, Emily and Crissy were saved from the first public vote-off, putting Stefanie, Fatima, Antony, Willie, Lorraine and Sinitta at risk of leaving.
