The terrified So Macho singer was locked in an elevator that descended in to an underground pit filled with water. There were eight holes in the pit, some underwater, which contained at least one star each alongside jungle critters.

The trial was also conducted in the dark, and although there was a button she could press to turn on an ‘unreliable’ light. Each star she found was worth one meal for camp.

“I don’t know if I can go underground, and underwater and look in and holes and stuff all at the same time,” she said nervously.

Sinitta hummed to keep calm as she was lowered in to the water, which came to shoulder height, but soon began shrieking as she found her first star among cane toads.

She skipped the second hole after being told by hosts Ant and Dec that it contained snakes and put her hand in the third, finding one star, but missing another one that lay next to it. Something then brushed against her hand and she decided she’d had enough, shouting “I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!” to end the trial.

“Oh dear, the shame,” cried an embarrassed Sinitta as she exited the elevator.

“I got a feeling of dread. It’s getting my mind over that and doing it,” she explained. “The camp won’t be impressed and I’m not impressed either.”
