Dancing On Ice 2012 judge Katarina Witt has apologised to Chemmy Alcott after describing her as a “big woman” on Sunday night’s performance show.
The new judge told the skier to focus less on lifts because of her size and stature.
But according to the Daily Star, Chemmy was left crying after thinking Katarina had called her fat.
“I feel sorry about a comment I made about Chemmy and I think I upset her a bit,” the former Olympic skater said today. “I said she’s a big girl and she misunderstood.
“I meant it in a complimentary way, that she is a tall girl. As a skater I was a big girl, I was tall, I was big.
“I must say I am sorry, I think it was a language thing so sorry, sorry Great Britain.”
