Ashleigh and Pudsey have been crowned the winners of Britain’s Got Talent 2012, taking home a £500,000 cash prize.
17-year-old schoolgirl Ashleigh and her pet pooch Pudsey triumphed in tonight’s live final, making them the first dog act to win the show in its six year history.
Jonathan and Charlotte finished in second place, while Welsh choir Only Boys Aloud finished in third place.
Speaking to us earlier this week, Ashleigh said she’d be buying Pudsey as many ham sandwiches as he wanted if they won the prize money!
The pair have also won themselves a spot on the Royal Variety Show in front of her Majesty the Queen in December.
“I have no idea, I’m just crying,” Ashleigh reacted.
But as a teary Ashleigh took in the news, there was still one thing to account for!
“I am completely delighted, but more than that, Simon said if the dog won he would dance with it,” Amanda Holden recalled, to cheers from the audience.
And as Ashleigh and Pudsey celebrated their win with one final performance, Simon even joined in with a sort-of little jig, albeit from the comfort of his chair!
No sooner had Britain’s Got Talent 2012 finished, than applications for next year’s series opened.
We’ll see you the other side…
