Wacky Martyn Crofts from Skipton iwas a surprise hit with the Britain’s Got Talent judges tonight.
The 42-year-old put a saucepan on his head and impersonated a Dalek for the panel.
But despite a prize of £500,000 and a performance in front of the queen on offer, Martyn wasn’t that ambitious.
He explained beforehand: “Me and my son go to Skipton gala every year and it’s always opened by a celebrity.
“I said to my son this year I’ll open it, he asked how and I told him by winning Britain’s Got Talent.”
Describing his act to Ant and Dec, Maryn revealed: “I’ve been doing this for 20 years in pubs and clubs, so I’m really looking forward to today.
“I reckon I could actually win, this act is absolutely unique.”
But just seconds in, Simon buzzed Martyn.
The music mogul told him: “Martyn I’ve got to be honest with you, I came back from America to do this show because I’m looking for someone who I can possibly put on in Las Vegas and with the greatest respect if you turned up with a saucepan on your head and pretended to be a Dalek you would empty stadiums”
However the other judges were more positive.
Amanda raved: “Do you know what, I loved that! I did, it’s variety and that’s what Britain’s Got Talent is all about”
David joked: “For me the star of the show was the saucepan, it’s obviously a good one its non-stick! It was very original, at no point did I necessarily think you were going to stick that on your head and be a Dalek”
Alesh added: “I actually did enjoy it, that’s what confusing me I’m not supposed to like you but I really did!”
With three yeses from the judges, it was through to the callbacks for Martyn!
