Jonathan Antoine to quit Britain's Got Talent 2012 over illness?

Britain's Got Talent - Jonathan and Charlotte

Britain’s Got Talent favourite Jonathan Antoine may be forced to quit the show over illness, it has been reported today.

The 17-year-old Opera singer remains the bookies tip to win the show alongside pal Charlotte Jaconelli, but their future is seemingly in doubt.

With the live shows set to air this week, Jonathan has been forced to quit rehearsals after “nearly collapssing”.

“Jonathan looked terrible,” a supposed backstage source told The Sun today. “He has been knocked for six by flu.”

Jonathan and Charlotte wowed the judges with their duet on the show’s opening audition episode last month, and have remained strong contenders to win in next Saturday’s final.

If Jonathan does quit, it’s sure to upset Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon, who this week admitted she couldn’t wait to see him perform again.

“I’d love to see singing duo Charlotte and Jonathan again,” the former Strictly Come Dancing star told the TV Times. “Jonathan just blew everyone away and Charlotte is a much better vocalist than she was given credit for.”

The Britain’s Got Talent 2012 auditions conclude tonight on ITV1. The live shows start tomorrow at 8PM.
