British singer Labrinth has denied reports that he branded The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent “absolute s**t”, just days before he’s due to perform on the show.

In an interview with the Metro, Labrinth was asked if he could consider performing on the X Factor UK when it hits screens in the autumn.

He is quoted as saying: “What do you think I should do? For me, I think it’s absolute s***”

But Labrinth, signed to Simon Cowell’s Syco label, hit back on Twitter: “I’ve gotta give it to the metro paper for there amazing ability to reconstruct words in controversial b******t

“Come on now why would I s**t on my own family.”

He added: “Lesson learned. It was a joke ha ha #detentionforlab.”

Labrinth will be performing on Sunday’s first Britain’s Got Talent 2012 live show, which airs at 8PM on ITV1.
