The runner up of Britain’s Got Talent 2011 Ronan Parke has been dropped by Simon Cowell’s record label.
The 13-year-old finished second to Scottish singer Jai McDowall on the show last year, and was quickly picked up by Simon’s Syco record label.
But less than a year on, Syco and Sony Music.have reportedly dropped Ronan after just one album, which performed poorly in the charts.
The self-titled record, which included a batch of covers, peaked at just 22 in the charts.
A spokesperson for Ronan however insisted that the singer simply decided to go in a “different direction”.
BGT 2011 winner Jai’s record deal ended with a similar fate in March this year.
