Louis Walsh is set to step in for Amanda Holden during the Britain’s Got Talent 2012 auditions, it has been revealed.

Pregnant Amanda was with fellow judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams for the start of auditions in Manchester last week, but will take time out from recording next month.

X Factor judge Louis, who has stepped in for Simon previously on the show, will take her spot.

“Simon is really looking forward to being back on the Britain’s Got Talent panel and he thought Amanda’s pregnancy was a perfect opportunity to reunite him with his friend,” a source said.

They added: “Louis usually take s along holiday at this time of year but e was happy to cut his annual trip to Miami short to help out Simon.

“Louis loves being on the BGY panel and can’t wait to get stuck in.”
