Comedian Ruby Wax pulled out of Celebrity Big Brother just days before the show started, it has been claimed.
The 58-year-old was rumoured to be entering the reality series alongside the likes of Natalie Cassidy and Denise Welch last night, but didn’t appear in the launch show.
Former Celebrity Big Brother housemate John McCririck revealed on BBC’s 5 Live that she had withdrawn from the programme just before the launch.
“I’m very, very sad indeed, I was in the house yesterday doing some filming. One likely contestant was going to be Ruby Wax. I think she would have been fantastic,” he said.
“She would have been fantastic. Great comedian. If anyone had taken her on, you can imagine what would have happened.”
He added: “Very, very sad not to have Ruby Wax in.”
