Cheryl Cole's A Million Lights album struggles to sell

Cheryl Cole’s new album A Million Lights has failed to set the charts alight, selling less than 8,000 copies this week.

Without a launch on The X Factor, the album failed to reach the number one spot when it was first released last month.

It’s spent just two weeks in the Top 10, and plummeted down a further ten spots in the charts this week.

Despite lead single Call My Name having become the fastest selling track of the year, Cheryl’s new studio album is currently being outsold by Adele, who released 21 back in January 2011.

With new single Under The Sun due for release soon however, there’s still plenty of time for the Geordie star to notch up further sales.

From October Cheryl will also be going on her first ever headlining solo tour.

Tickets for the A Million Lights tour, which will play venues include London’s O2, are on sale now.
