Big Brother, Superstar struggle in the ratings

Big Brother and Superstar have struggled in the ratings this weekend, both dipping to series lows.

Saturday’s show was watched by only 870,000 viewers at 9PM yesterday, ahead of only last month’s clash with the England’s Euro 2012 quarter final match.

So far this series of the reality show is slightly up on last year’s run, but mainly thanks to the addition of Channel 5′s new plus one service.

ITV1′s Superstar meanwhile dipped to below 3 million viewers, as the finalists were revealed.

Just 2.89 million tuned in to Saturday’s third installment, which saw Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber, Mel C and Jasono Donovan pick their final 10.

While the shows have never been huge hits like The X Factor, previous series on BBC One have still attracted healthy audiences of around 4-5 million viewers.

Both shows continue tonight, with Superstar live on ITV1.

The low viewing figures could be down to a protest we organised to NOT watch BB and BOTS last night. We are protesting that that sexist, bullying Conor is still in the house and can apparently do no wrong in BB’s eyes. Get it right and get him out, otherwise more protests will follow.
