Britain's Got Talent 2012 becomes most watched show of the year... so far

Britain's Got Talent

Britain’s Got Talent has become the most watched show of 2012 so far, with over 12.5 million viewers watching the final two weeks ago.

An average audience of 12.57 million (excluding +1) tuned in between 7:30PM and 10PM earlier this month to see Ashleigh and Pudsey crowed winners.

It was in line with last year’s figure of 12.64 million, and was enough to make it the most watched show of the year to date.

The series pipped Coronation Street to the top spot, which had been seen by 12.2 million viewers earlier back in January.

The Voice UK is in third place, with 12 million back during the auditions, but its most recent live show didn’t manage to clear 7 million.

BBC One’s Call The Midwife and Eastenders complete the top five with 11.4 million and 11 million viewers respectively.

Dancing On Ice’s latest series managed 9.3 million to score seventh place in the top 10, while ITV1 drama Titanic managed 8.4 million.

Needless to say, with Euro 2012, The Olympics and The X Factor all still to air this year, expect plenty of changes come December.
