The Voice UK continued its brilliant start in the ratings last night, improving on last week’s 8.4 million debut to be watched by an average audience of just fewer than 9 million.
8.9 million viewers – a 500,000 increase on last week – tuned into yesterday’s second blind audition show.
Rival Britain’s Got Talent however won the night once again, averaging a healthy 10.3 million, increasing its lead over The Voice by 400,000.
During the 20 minute overlap between the two shows however The Voice did win by two million viewers, a decrease in last week’s 3.3 million gap.
Despite the press reports of a rivalry it seems that both shows are helping one another out, with last night’s BGT up over a million viewers on last year’s instalment.
Both shows continue their audition episodes next Saturday night.
