There’s sure to be a few red faces all around at ITV today, as it’s revealed that last night’s climatic X Factor final was beaten by Strictly come Dancing on ITV1. An average of 10.8 million viewers watched the show, down millions on last year’s 14.1 million viewers.
And that’s including the extra viewers who tuned into the show on ITV+1.
It was the lowest final rating for the show in nearly five years, just a tad above the figure back from 2006, when Sharon Osbourne was still on the panel.
The X Factor 2011 continues tonight, and we’re expecting ITV1 will have their fingers crossed for some improvement.
