Young hopeful Lizzie Colbourne broke down in tears on tonight’s X Factor, as the pressures of bootcamp got too much and she forgot her lines. The remaining hopefuls were all spit into small groups and given a song to sing, but with just four hours to rehearse together, some struggled.
Before stepping on stage, Lizzie was excited: “I auditioned and I met Gary Barlow and Tulisa and Kelly and Louis…oh my gosh…and look at where I am, I’m at Wembley Stadium…this has been the most amazing experience of my life.”
Singing ‘Born This Way’ with her group just a few minutes later however, Lizzie cracked under the pressure
“I’m so sorry,” said a sobbing Lizzie.
A reassuring Gary insisted: “It’s alright,” while Kelly adds: “Don’t cry.”
As the group left the stage, with a crying Lizzie being comforted by the other members in her group, the judges were disappointed.
“Poor Lizzie, I really like Lizzie too,” Kelly said.
Backstage, and Lizzie was just as frustrated, telling the cameras: “I’m so angry at myself.”
And as auditions continued, Lizzie wasn’t the only contestant who failed to live up to their original audition.
“I was not happy at all,” Kelly said about Derry Menah’s performance, while Johnny Robisnon struggled as he forgot the words.
Gary Barlow remarked: “If people are letting nerves get the better of them at this point I’m worried by that.”
