X Factor girl group Little Mix received a mixed reaction from the judges after tonight’s semi-final performance of If I Were A Boy by Beyonce. While Louis Walsh felt the group were the next Girls Aloud, Gary felt the vocals were weak.
Louis Walsh said: “Girls, I remember 10 years ago on a TV show like this Girls Aloud were born and you remind me of them. You’ve got amazing potential, if you work harder and get the styling right this is the next big girl band.
“I think you can win this but it wasn’t perfect.”
Kelly Rowland said: “I absolutely love this group, all you need to do is discover who gets the best out of the others. Once you do that, this group is going to be dynamic and change the world.”
Gary Barlow however was more critical, saying: “For a semi-final act these vocals just aren’t good enough. You’ve had a bad night tonight, girls.”
But he added: “I need to remind people how good you’ve been in the competition and to pick up their phones and vote for you.”
Tulisa said: “There’s only one record contract in this competition and if people want to hear you on an album then they need to pick up the phones.”
Slamming the judges’ desk, Tulisa added: “You deserve to win this!”
