New X Factor judge Tulisa is already buckling under the pressure of being a part of the UK’s biggest TV show, close pals of the singer have claimed. According to this week’s Star magazine, the N-Dubz star is calling on her ‘Showbiz dad’ Louis Walsh for support.
Hip hop songstress Tulisa Contostavlos replaced Cheryl Cole on the X Factor panel this year, with fellow new judges Gary Barlow and Kelly Rowland also joining the programme.
And with more than 12 million viewers tuning into the episodes and contestant press attention surrounding the show, friends say Tulisa is already struggling to cope as she sees her career soar overnight.
“Emotionally, Tulisa is very up and down. She’s on show from the minute she leaves her front door in the morning,” a source blabbed earlier this week.
They continued: “She refers to herself as ‘public property’ and feels like the only peace she gets is behind closed doors. She used to be a party girl, now she wants to do is go home and have a cuppa.”
According to the source, Tulisa is already worried about the upcoming live shows in October, with nearly 20 million people expected to be tuning in over the weekend to watch – and no doubt criticise – her, the acts and the other judges. Fortunately, Tulisa has a secret weapon in the form of Louis Walsh!
“Tulisa’s drained and was a bag of nerves during the audition stages. She was literally shaking. She’s not sure how she’ll cope when it goes live, and has been relying on ‘showbiz dad’ Louis Walsh for support,” the source said.
Meanwhile the stress of the show is also said to be impacting Tulisa’s health. The insider added: “Stress has made her less hungry.
“She’s lost some weight and snacks on chips and biscuits rather than eating a proper meal.”
The X Factor 2011 continues this Saturday on ITV1.
