New X Factor 2011 UK judge Tulisa Contostavlos has said she wants to bring something “fresh and new” to the panel. The 22-year-old hip-hop singer from group N-Dubz says she’s going to be unjust as feisty as Cheryl Cole! Speaking after the judges were revealed today, Tulisa says: “Let the fireworks begin!”
As the lead singer of one of the most successful urban British hip hop group, N-Dubz, Tulisa has had eight top 40 hits, a sell-out tour, album sales of over 1.2 million and has won four MOBO awards.
Talking about her new job on the UK’s biggest reality telly show, Tulisa said: “I’m so excited to be the joining The X Factor and want to bring something fresh and new to the panel.
“I’m not going to be afraid to speak my mind and mix things up a little. I am hoping to find some hot new talent and mentor a winning category. It is also going to be great to get to know and work alongside the other Judges.”
She added: “Let the fireworks begin!”
Tulisa will be joined on the show by Take That star Gary Barlow, US singer Kelly Rowland and Irish music mogul Louis Walsh.
The X Factor 2011 auditions start in Birmingham on June 1.
