Former Big Brother’s Little Brother presenter George Lamb has been announced as the host of new Channel 4 gameshow The Bank Job.
The show will be broadcast live from a real bank vault across six consecutive nights, giving contestants the chance to pull off the ultimate heist and win hundreds of thousands of pounds.
Four players take part on each of the first five nights, answering questions against the clock. For each correct answer, they pick a ‘safety deposit box’ and keep whatever is inside.
But time in the vault is limited, and the contestants face a dilemma – stay in the vault to get more cash and face the possibility of being left inside when the time runs out, or bail out early and risk being left with the least money, and also being eliminated.
The five victors from each of these shows will then pool their winnings together on the final night, competing against each other in a winner-takes-all grand final.
George said: “I’m super happy to be back at Channel 4, working on such an exciting and ground-breaking live show. If you cross an edge-of-your-seat game show with Ocean’s Eleven and add a twist of real-time viewing then you’ve got The Bank Job.”
Last week, an online game was launched giving users the chance to apply for the show.
The Bank Job airs on Channel 4 in early January.
