16-year-old Bradley Johnson wowed the judges on tonight’s final X Factor 2011 audition show, performing The A Team by Ed Sheeran. The talented teenager impressed the panel as try outs moved to Liverpool for the first time in the show’s history.
Following Bradley’s performance, it was clearly worth it.
Speaking to Dermot before his audition, the youngster admitted his childhood hadn’t been straightforward: “When I was 12 years old I started getting involved with scallies and thugs and that’s when I started getting in to trouble at school… I’ve been expelled from three schools.
“When I was 13, I got kicked out of my first school, when I was 14 I got kicked out of my second school. My mum and dad split up, I was confused. I was drinking on the streets, getting arrested by the police and it progressed from there. When I was 15 I went into a behavioural school and that’s when I looked at all the people there and thought ‘I’m nothing like this’, I stood out like a sore thumb. I just want to get on stage today and prove to everyone I’m a good lad, I’m not a bad lad anymore.”
On stage and Bradley told the panel: “It’s all in my past and I’ve come here today to prove to the teachers who think I’m a bad lad that I’ve got something good.”
Performing The A Team by Ed Sheeran, Bradley Johnson was left in tears by the reaction from the crowd.
“I love that song, and now I love it even more,” Tulisa told him
Kelly added: “I look at you Bradley and I see so much passion. I could listen to that voice on an album from top to bottom.”
Louis said: “I think you’re very brave, you’re very honest. You’ve got great likeability. This kid has got so much potential.”
And Gary raved: “Bradley it was unique, distinctive, full of personality, and I think you’re going to be such a great part of this competition, I really do.
With four massive yeses, Bradley was off to bootcamp!
