X Factor 2011 hopeful John Wilding wowed The X Factor 2011 judges on this evening’s show, receiving a standing ovation from all of the panel as well as the audience. The 18-year-old from Essex was overwhelmed by the reception, after failing to make it through on last year’s show.
Recalling his previous experience on The X Factor, John told Dermot: “I auditioned for the show last year and made it to Danni Minogue’s house in Australia, it was really hard to get a no, it just hits you in the face like a brick wall, because you’re so close to getting to that next round and for it to be taken back at the last minute, it’s just really devastating.
“In the last year I’ve been working on my singing, I’ve been singing nonstop every day trying to improve my voice, I just feel like I’m ready this year, with the new judges it’s sort of like a fresh start and I can just go in there and give them everything I have got and hopefully they’ll say yes. .”
On stage, and John told this year’s new look panel: “I think after watching last year and watching myself, I took all the good things and the bad things and worked on them for the whole year and now I am back and I’m ready to show you what I can do. ”
An amazing performance of Jennifer Hudson’s Love You I Do later, and the panel were on their feet.
“I love people like you!” Tulisa said. “I love people who get knocked back and use it to push themselves and better themselves. You have blown us away.”
Louis added: “I loved that audition. You came back and it was just… every single note! That was incredible.”
Kelly said: “You have such a great beautiful gift, you belong on a stage!”
Gary commented: “I have go to tell you, that was absolutely sensational. Thank god you came back. Congratulations!”
With a huge single yes from all four of the judges, it was on to boot camp for John Wilding
