X Factor 2011: Will it be second time lucky for John Wilding?

John Wilding (X Factor 2011)

18-year-old John Wilding returns to The X Factor tonight for a second attempt at the show. The teenager previously made it to judges’ houses last year with Dannii Minogue, but missed out on the chance to perform on the live shows.

Speaking to Dermot O’Leary about his previous experience, John explains: “I auditioned for the show last year and made it to Danni Minogue’s house in Australia, it was really hard to get a no, it just hits you in the face like a brick wall, because you’re so close to getting to that next round and for it to be taken back at the last minute, it’s just really devastating.

“In the last year I’ve been working on my singing, I’ve been singing nonstop every day trying to improve my voice, I just feel like I’m ready this year, with the new judges it’s sort of like a fresh start and I can just go in there and give them everything I have got and hopefully they’ll say yes.”

On stage and Tulisa asks John what’s changed in the last year: “I think after watching last year and watching myself,” he replies, “I took all the good things and the bad things and worked on them for the whole year and now I am back and I’m ready to show you what I can do. ”

Performing Jennifer Hudson’s Sings Love You I Do, will this year’s new panel think John has what it takes to go all the way this time?

Tune into The X Factor 2011 tonight from 8PM on ITV1 to find out!
